Career Opportunity – Vancouver Lower Mainland & BC Interior Regions

PRA Canada is a national professional services firm, providing risk management, advisory and internal audit services to a wide variety of businesses including financial services firms across Canada. We are seeking to expand our team of experienced audit personnel in British Columbia and have an opening for a Manager, Internal Audit. The successful candidate will be assigned the responsibility of carrying out the annual internal audit plans for clients primarily in the Greater Vancouver lower mainland and BC Interior regions.

We offer an exciting future and are looking for qualified individuals to join us and share in our success.

As part of a motivated team of internal audit professionals, you will play a key support role on the team taking initiative and providing risk management advisory services to Credit Unions in Greater Vancouver and the BC Interior. In conducting internal audits, you will identify, analyze and evaluate financial and operating risks, and work closely with management and colleagues to support enterprise-wide risk management programs, as well as monitor and track key risks.

The ideal candidate will have five or more years of financial services or internal audit experience. You will demonstrate advanced knowledge of internal controls, ideally within a financial services environment, and audit principles, standards, practices and techniques. The candidate should be willing to demonstrate a commitment to professionalism, including either having a professional audit designation (CPA (CA/CMA/CGA), CIA, CISA or CFE) or committing to enrollment in a professional accounting or risk management accreditation program.

You have the desire and ability to interact with management and staff who appreciate the value of internal audit. You show initiative in use and learning of technology and would appreciate the opportunity to expand your knowledge through assignments ranging from forensic investigations to information technology audits.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and the ability to work in a virtual multi-task environment where innovation and integrity are valued. In your previous roles, you have managed assignments and can demonstrate your ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines. You have the ability to understand complex situations and can hone in on key issues quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. We offer competitive compensation and a friendly, team-oriented business environment. This position requires travel throughout Canada with the majority of activity in the Lower Mainland and Interior BC. Financial institution experience is an asset.
